If you haven't met Brittney Chapman, our CLC YMCA Director of Youth Development, I encourage you to stop by her office to say hi and WAY TO GO! Brittney has been making HUGE impacts on our community kiddos for years — impacts that last a lifetime and make your heart happy. Read on to enjoy one of the happy impact moments for Brittney and Ethan, a youth Y member who has grown from a program participant to a program leader.
Ethan is a senior at Lincoln Academy and a valued member of our Thrive at the Y Afterschool Program team. What makes Ethan’s story especially meaningful is that he once attended Thrive himself as a child and truly understands the impact this program has on kids and families. Now in his second year working with us, Ethan has grown into a confident, dependable leader. This year in particular, he has really stepped up by taking initiative; supporting younger staff; and building strong, positive relationships with the children. He leads by example with patience, kindness, and responsibility, and the kids look up to him in a big way.
We’re incredibly proud of the young man Ethan has become and grateful to have him as part of the Thrive at the Y team. His journey from Thrive kid to Thrive leader is exactly what this program is all about.
