Healthy Heart Tips and Programs at the YMCA

Blood pressure control worsened in both men and woman since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The YMCA of Greater Nashua urges our community to make their health a priority. While blood pressure and heart disease are serious conditions, the good news is a healthy heart is an achievable goal through lifestyle changes. Getting help can be as easy as contacting the Y and taking part in a new program or class.

Cultural Café: Merrimack YMCA on Friday, February 17 from 7-8pm

Join us for an inclusive, welcoming, group that encourages English Language Learners (ELLs) to practice English in a casual, social setting. Each month members have the opportunity to get together to socialize and share about their culture. Click for More Information

 

Nashua YMCA: Wellbeing Center Grand Opening - Thursday, February 16

Merrimack YMCA: Squash Interest Clinic - Saturday, March 11

The sports and recreation department will be holding clinics on March 11 for those interested in learning how to play Squash. There'll be two hour-long clinics, one from ages 6-14 (9-10am) and one for ages 15+ (10-11am). FREE to all who are interested. Registration Required

 

Grief Support Group Continues with Y Partner, St. Joseph Hospital

With the increasing demand for therapy, wait lists for therapeutic services are growing. We're providing in-person support groups hosted by two licensed social workers at the Nashua YMCA. The goal of these groups is to promote healing and empowerment. Click for More Information

 
Group Ex Reservation System

NEW Group Exercise Reservation System

 

In addition to the mobile app we launched, we've moved to a new group exercise class reservation system.

 

Group exercise classes can now be reserved using only your My Y Account login information. You are able to do this from either our web site or mobile app. Reservations for classes will open 48 hours ahead of class start time.

PICK UP GAMES AND FREE RECREATION: ONGOING
Recreation with Like Minded Members
There are a lot of free sports and recreation options at the Y, ranging from pickleball, wallyball, basketball, racquetball and more. Schedules for availability can be viewed on our web site or by reaching out to one of our welcome center's to inquire about times and locations.

 

For more information on racquetball please reach out to Rob Marston via email who coordinates racquetball play within our Y's courts.

We have updated our Group Exercise Class offerings being held at all three of our branches. Additionally, we have revised our Senior/Active Older Adult Group Exercise Programming Schedule!

WATER AEROBICS EXERCISE ALERT: We will begin to take optional reservations for our Water Aerobics classes. It is not required to reserve your spot for aquatics classes, but highly suggested so we can be sure to inform participants of any cancellations. At this time, there will not be a cap for the number of attendees. In the event that the pool is canceled due to weather, staffing or mechanical issues, we will be able to notify those on the reservation list directly.

We’re continuing to utilize reservation systems to coordinate member visits to all three branches for some of our available services like group exercise, lap swimming, etc. Questions? Contact Meredith Wegener for Group Exercise inquiries and Shea Wilkins-Fleck for Lap Swim inquiries.

 

KIDS STOP BABYSITTING
In order to take care of others you need to take care of yourself. We'll watch the kids while you get your workout in, free of charge for family members with kids ages 1-12 years old, at all 3 branches. Click Here to make a reservation!
