Finding ourselves in the bigger picture: Reflections from Mifgash

This year marked my fourth time attending the Mifgash Executive Leadership Forum, the annual gathering of Jewish Community Center leaders from across North America. While each Mifgash has offered learning and connection, this was the first time in four years that the experience truly clicked for me.

For the first time, I felt deeply and unmistakably connected to something much bigger than ourselves. Read Brooke's reflection...

Doing good with your stuff: Mission-driven 'Mitzvah Market' comes to The J

This spring, the Levite JCC invites families and neighbors of all ages to take part in a meaningful community exchange at the Mitzvah Market on March 29 — a joyful celebration of giving, sustainability, and Jewish values. Rooted in the Jewish principle of bal tashchit, or the commitment to avoid waste and honor resources, this event will transform gently used items into opportunities for connection and care. Get all the details...

Fit Floor restrooms refit

And before we go...

BIG CHECK FROM A BIG DAY — Levite JCC CEO Brooke Bowles (second from left) recently joined Susan and Billy Lapidus (third and fourth from left) to drop off a $12,711 donation for Children's of Alabama. The check, generated by last fall's Sam Lapidus Montclair Run (named in memory of Susan and Billy's son), was accepted by Children's employees, including Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (and Levite JCC member) Meredith Weintraub (on left). Over the past 16 years, the donations from the SLMR plus other similar benefits have totaled more than $147,000 — all to benefit the Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders.
