CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION POLICY

The Y provides all youth with the highest quality services available. We are committed to creating an environment for youth that is safe, nurturing, empowering, and that promotes growth andsuccess.

No form of abuse will be tolerated and confirmed abuse will result in immediate dismissal from our organization. All reports of suspicious or inappropriate behavior with youth, or allegations of abuse,will be taken seriously and investigated. Our organization will fully cooperate with authorities if allegations of abuse are made that require investigation.

PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

This SOP provides essential guidelines for the selection, use, and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure the safety of all YMCA staff. All staff must comply and use PPE as required. Supervisors must ensure training and availability of PPE.

SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE UNIVERSITY JOINS THE Y'S NATIONAL NETWORK OF HIGHER EDUCATION PARTNERS

Y-USA recently launched a new partnership with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), expanding the educational options available to YMCA staff and their families. Through this partnership, eligible participants can receive a 15% tuition discount on a wide range of online programs.

Family members include spouses, partners, children, parents, grandparents, and grandchildren. Available programs include associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees, as well as undergraduate and graduate certificates. Popular choices include:

·        Bachelor of Psychology

·        Bachelor of Business Administration

·        Bachelor of Human Services

·        Bachelor of General Studies

·        Master of Business Administration

As a reminder, YMCA professionals can also access tuition discounts and other benefits through our existing higher education partners: Springfield College, Capella University, and Strayer University.

These partnerships offer financial incentives for degree progress and credits for prior learning/work experience.

EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION PICNIC RECAP

Our first Employee Appreciation Picnic was held on Saturday, August 16 at Camp Evergreen.  A big congratulations to Mary Stehle for winning the raffle for the Brewerton Boatyard complimentary boat rental—what a fantastic prize!

MICROSOFT PUBLISHER

Microsoft announced earlier this year that they will no longer be supporting the Microsoft Publisher software. If you are currently using Publisher to create any collateral, please connect with MarComm to figure out the best way to manage your designs moving forward. Publisher support will end on October 1st and files will likely no longer be able to be opened.
