COMMUNITY

MAKE A GIFT TODAY

Turn barriers into belonging 💙

Katie and her son James found the Y while navigating a fresh start and move back home to Eugene. As a single parent raising a child who experiences the world a little differently, Katie is used to thinking ahead—planning for transitions, new environments, and whether a space will truly work for her son.

“They made it easy right away,” Katie shares. “It wasn’t about whether we would work for the Y. It was about how they could make the Y work for us.”

Through financial assistance powered by donors, the Y helps make this kind of experience a reality for families navigating complex needs. Roughly 65% of the people you see in the pool, in the fitness center, in the child care rooms and in classes are here because donors like you said "Yes!" to this community.

Thank you!

More than 3,700 of you recently shared input through a survey on the future of our programs and facilities—including our Patterson Campus and opportunities in North Eugene. You highlighted the importance of access to wellness, youth development, and spaces where everyone feels they belong.

We’re now reviewing your feedback to help shape what comes next. Read more here.

Youth Protection at the Y, May focus

It’s Mental Health Awareness Month, a reminder that mental well‑being is just as important as physical health.

At the Y, we notice when youth are struggling and provide calm, consistent spaces where they can connect, regroup and feel safe. Families can support by checking in regularly and listening without judgment.

Try a quick routine at dinner or bedtime, asking your youth…
What was your high today? Your low?
Anything you want me to know?

If something seems bigger than a rough day, remind your youth that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness! 🧡

Want to dig deeper into this essential topic? Join us for Promoting Community on May 19, when the focus will be Mental Health Awareness!
